“Juliet Naked” by Nick Hornby

I added another Nick Hornby novel to the list a little while ago. “Juliet Naked” is the latest Hornby novel. The story focuses on two people in their 40s who have been living together for around 15 years and discover that maybe that’s not what they want anymore. The catalyst of their demise is a long forgotten (except by a few) rockstar whose music and recent anonymity have shaped, then broken, their longterm relationship.
I enjoyed this book. There were definitely some witty parts and the characters were well developed. I can’t say that this was the best Hornby story I’ve heard, but I enjoyed reading about characters who were past their prime, dwelling on people and things from a long time ago. It was a nice change-up from the woe-is-me 20 something year old.
If you like Nick Hornby, you’ll most likely enjoy this novel. It’s a fairly quick read and will add a little humor to your day.
