“Girl Sleuth” by Melanie Rehak

Who doesn’t love Nancy Drew?  Well maybe some people but not me.  I heart her.  This book was quite fascinating.  Being born about forty years after the first Drew Mystery was published, I had no idea that it was done by a ghostwriter.  Rehak did her homework.  This is a complete history not only of the Nancy Drew series but of the world in which it was written.

If you’ve never read Nancy Drew, you will after you read this book.  They’re the greatest, most innocent, quick reads ever.  It’s my go-to during stressful times, like when my boyfriend’s been gone for TWO MONTHS.

Anyway…Biographies can be boring, but this was anything but.  Rehak combined the history of Nancy Drew with the history of everyone who touched it.  Plus it’s very well written.  Highly recommended.  Plus the cover is AMAZING.
